Question
Joe has a grievance against his supervisor because he feels he should have been given the opportunity for overtime. Joe meets with the union steward and is told that the grievance is not worth taking to the next step. Two weeks later, Joe hears that Alisha's grievance was taken beyond the supervisor level concerning opportunities for overtime. Joe believes that Alisha's grievance was given special treatment because she is an active union member and attends all of the meetings with her friends. Joe does not pay union dues, but is in the bargaining unit. Is this a case of unfair labor practice? Why or why not?
Explanation / Answer
According to me this is a case of unfair labor practice, as both Joe and Alishas have same grievances and Alisha grievances has given priority over joe just because she is activ member of union , this is an unfair labor practices. As because lobor law provide three right to his every labor that is equal standing, equal treatment and no repraisals and in this case both the right like equal treatment and equal standing are violating by the union, so this is unfair practice according to me.
