Steps to make a phone call to pass on a message: Recalling the simple exercise we did in class, write down the instructions you will give to a small child (who can follow you instructions very well but can’t think for himself/herself), to make a phone call on your behalf to your friend Mr. X and to pass on a message to him requesting him to meet you and other team members for a project meeting at 5.00 p.m. the next day at the Student Center on TAM campus.

Note: Try to be clear and explicit with each step. Visualize the steps you will go through, if you were making the phone call. Try to capture all possible alternate scenarios of the transaction in your instructions. E.g. you enter incorrect numbers, friend’ phone is busy, or you run into answering machine or someone else answers the phone etc.

Importantly, please note the use of “sequence,” “selection,” and “repetition” constructs in providing the instructions (similar to outlining the logical flow of a computer program).

Step 1: Start

Step 2: Search friends or team members if you have list.

Step 3: if validate the phone number is 10 digits.

Step 4: if yes then go Step 4.1 else Step 5

            Step 4.1: Then dial Number

            Step 4.2: Call answered then pass message like Hi, This is Just message pass regarding him to meet you and other team members for a project meeting at 5.00 p.m. the next day at the Student Centre on TAM campus.

Step 5: Stop.
