Suppose an executive-level manager asked you to explain the importance of encryption. Detail the key points that you would use to justify the importance of using encryption during the overall security posture analysis of the executive-level manager’s organization.
From the e-Activity, describe at least two (2) uses of encryption within organizations today that you found in your research. From the uses identified, indicate the information resource the encryption is designed to protect. Assess the importance of protecting such an information resource from a security perspective.

Encryption is a process of converting data from normal form into an obscure format in order to ensure data is kept confidential to people unknown to it.It ensures secrecy of the data using keys.Important of encryption is:
1.To make sure the records of employees like names,salary,salary slips and designations are kept confidential and are only available to the manager and not the other employees or outsiders.
2.To make sure high level managers of the company keep the information of organization like the selling pice,quotations ,etc are kept secret from outsiders.Unknown people may not be able to access and misuse it.
The two uses of encryption are:
1.To ensure secrecy and confidentiality->To ensure data is accessed by only the authenticated people having the possession of the key to decrypt or encrypt with the help of data.This prevents the misuse of data.
2.To ensure integrity of data and non-repudiation:It makes sure data is not changed while it travels from one place to another and it makes sure sender of message cannot deny sending the message.
it is achieved by using a key and encrypting the plaintext to make sure the data is protected.
This information like employee records need to be protected so that unknown people cannot misuse them or change it which can lead to a problem for the employees or the company since business involves a lot of money and if some information is assessed by intruder he might create problems which can lead to total business downfall .In order to ensure this does not happen it is important to encrypt data.
