There are a various ways inw hich we can decide whether to use remote access or local access.For the above problem we will use remote access.This is because of the following reasons :

1.Loosely couple beans:For loosely coupled beans in an organization we will use remote access as it will provide conenction to a data processing system through a a remote location.

2.Type of client:Since this application will involve application clients ,it will allow remote access. This will help clients to access the entwork through remote areas.

3.Component distribution:Here the compoenents and dats are distributed all over the place so as a result of thiswe have a a distributed application, for example, the server that the web components run on may not be the one on which the enterprise beans they access are deployed. In this distributed scenario, the enterprise beans should allow remote access..

VPNs have become the logical solution for remote-access connectivity for the following reasons:

1.It provides secure communications over a network with access rights tailored to individual users, such as employees, contractors, or partners

2. It enhances productivity by extending corporate network and applications

3.Lastly it reduces communications costs and increases flexibility

There are variousways in which we can gain remote access .This involves:

1.IPSEC VPN(ip security virtual private network):In this a Vpn client is usually installed on the computer of the end user and and the computer is confifured with the details of the target network such as a pre-shared security key.As a result everytime the user wants to connect to the network,they first start the vpn client which creates   secure connection to the the corporate firewall.It includes a lot of licenses for IPSEC vpn connections,moreover a lot of vpn connections can be active simultaneously and the processing overhead of the firewall is extremely low.

2.SSL VPN->secure sockets layer is an encryption technology that helps in providing secure communication over the internet.In order to set up a SSL VPN the network administrator publishes the VPN client to the firewall which is downloadable through the fireall's public connection..In order to access the corporate network, user first visits a web page from where he.she can install the SSL VPN client and download the configuration details..The users can install the vpn client from public portals and it provides the ease of access to the users.Moreover network administrators can set up granular security policies for specific resources on the corporate network, even down to a single web-based application.
