Question
Please help as soon as possible!
Find a recent article should be published in 2014 or later on technology. This article should be more extensive than just a 1-2 page blurb. Please write a 4-5 paragraph summary. Each paragraph should contain at least three sentences and do not include your opinion or reaction and please include a link of the article. Topic such as:
- advances using 3D printing
- alternate chip technologies such as nano-technology, etc...
Don't use wiki sites, how stuff works, ehow.
Explanation / Answer
In general, 3D printing involves taking a digital model or blueprint created via software, which is then printed in successive layers of materials like glass, metal, plastic, ceramic and assembled one layer at a time. Many major manufacturers use them to manufacture airplane parts or electrical appliances.
2015 was a year of tremendous strides for the innovative industry of 3D printing, proving it has the potential to change everything around us.From cool construction projects to life-changing surgeries.3D printing has also opened up exciting possibilities on the architecture front.
This year, robots started building bridges with no human assistance. In Dubai, they’re printing entire office buildings. An Italian company even developed a 40-foot tall 3D printer that builds low-cost disaster relief housing. And engineers are already brainstorming how to print 3D structures on Mars.
Some of the most incredible uses for 3D printing are developing within the medical field.
While an entire organ has yet to be successfully printed for practical surgical use, scientists and researchers have successfully printed kidney cells, sheets of cardiac tissue that beat like a real heart and the foundations of a human liver.

The first sophisticated electronic circuits made from germanium, a promising alternative to silicon
With superb electrical properties, germanium has always promised to make speedier circuits than silicon. But engineers were unable to use it to make compact, power-efficient circuits based on the industry’s established manufacturing technique, known as complementary metal-oxide semiconductor, or CMOS, technology.
Other alternative materials, such as carbon nanotubes or compound semiconductors, which are made from multiple elements
Nanotubes Seen as Alternative When Silicon Chips Hit Their Limits
I.B.M., which is one of the biggest proponents of nanotubes for microelectronic applications, has made clear its hope that carbon nanotube technology will be ready a decade from now, when semiconductors are expected to shrink to minimum dimensions of just 5 nanometers
Besides their small size, carbon nanotubes use much less power and switch faster than today’s silicon transistors.
