Now a days Web appearance is requirement of the business. So everyone wants to design an application or website which gives detailed work or process that follows in the business. Talking about available technology stack for website design and development there are lot of options available like ASP.NET, PHP and JSP etc. All these are server side scripting languages. If you want to design a web application that could have some back end functionality and user interface design and should be available globally , then there are couple of points need to be taken in to consideration like

ASP.NET:
Asp.net stands for Active Server Pages. As you know asp.net is given by MICROSOFT and which falls under .net technology stack. ASP.NET is an open source web application framework which is used for building modern web apps and services that runs on the web. ASP.NET is used to create websites which based on HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript that are simple, fast, and can scale to millions of users that means the websites designed using asp.net should be available or accessible to tons of user. Basically asp.net is used for design and development of enterprise applications that required at IT departments.

PHP:
PHP stands for Personal Home Page or Hypertext Preprocessor. So the main aim is to use php to build small homepages for people, not to build large scale applications.
