The scope of the Student Information System includes the following functionalities and characterstics:
1.Since the applications analyzes each course offered, it should also analyze number of students opting for the course i.e admissions being done in every course to keep a track.
2. It should manage all data and business processes associated with Admissions and its constituencies: prospects, applicants, organizations, parents, staff, and alumni volunteers.
1.Add, approve, and maintain course data, including prerequisites and co-requisites, distribution and division designations, titles, descriptions, cross-listings, enrollment restrictions, and enrollment exclusions.
1.It should maintain student's academic information in a secure, accessible system.
1.This project should report each student's progress in each category as well as in aggregate to identify future demand for courses.
2. It should also provide online access for students and advisors to track student degree progress.
1.It should provide a secure online system for faculty to enter final semester grades for each student.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.Accurate and accessible academic information, starting with up-to-date COURSES offered.
2.Links from the on-line course listings to the official departmental course information at department web sites.
3.Easy access to other information about courses such as course appraisals by former students.
