Question
You are the new manager for a group of organic farmers who have a weekly market in season. The farmers' market would like to purchase a digital camera options to present to the board of directors. First, you research the cost and quality differences between point-and-shoot cameras and SLR cameras. Use the web to find a recent model of both camera types and compare the reviews, as well as the costs, for each. Make a list of additional features, such as video capabilities, editing capabilities, lens, megapixels, GPS, flash, and zoom. Determine how each camera stores the images, the amount of storage available, and how to transfer images to a computer. Explore whether software is included with the camera that can be used to edit, store, or organize the images after they are transferred to a computer. Compare your findings with the camera capabilities of a recent model smartphone. Determine what type of camera would be best for the market's needs and the capabilities that are most important. Compile your findings.
Explanation / Answer
Answer)
The point shoot camera has small sensor and the SLR has a bigger sensor and interchangeable lens.
The cost of the cameras varies
The latest model of point shoot camera is Sony Cyber-shot RX100 V
The latest model for SLR is Canon EOS 7D Mark II
The difference between point shoot and SLR cameras are as follows:
The point shoot cameras seem ok when the natural family photos, friends or vacation photos are to be captured.
The price is comparatively low and it is a compact digital camera which is small in size and weight and easy to carry. It has a fixed lens where the images are measured in megapixels. This doesn't have mirror. The focus is always on which means the sensor is always on and receiving images. The images can appear blur.
The SLR has a single lens reflex which would have an optical viewfinder. The sensor is behind the physical shutter and mirror. The auto-focus is on the area where the prism is hence the focusing sensor works along the lines of +ve and -ve and has a faster auto focus.
At the current scenario there are many such smart phones which can give a DSLR Picture quality like mphone 7plus. The only concerned difference would be the resolution as the DSLR gives a better resolution than the smart phone and we will be able to edit the photos as per our needs and requirements.
For the above scenario, the SLR would give the best captured photographs but if the budget is low then a point shoot camera can also help.
The photos captured by the DSLR can be transferred to the computer to edit or organize using my software at the current scenario.
Hope this answer helps. :) Happy to help.
