NOTE: Nowadays most stores/retailers/hotels/businesses already have 'loyalty' cards that you scan when you make purchases, so companies do track specific user information on a fairly regular basis.

With that in mind, do you think you are part of such a loyalty program or have been to a resort/theme park/etc. where they implement this level of 1-to-1 marketing strategy? If so, please share your experience around that as well.

Using the loyalty card of a business vendor is not that much risk for the customer. The thing is we should have our own consciousness while buying the product which they recommend while one to one marketing.

It has both good and adverse effect.

Think n times why you need it ? Really you need it ? And how you came to know about it ? or they forcing you to buy showing offers ?

In this type of marketing the products will be sorted according to our purchasing history and yup it saves our time too.

Yes I do experience this one to one marketing; I usually cut my hair in a saloon near to my locality. The thing is I am having curly hair, after few times they started to market me the things that people using to straightening the hair, conditioners, shampoos etc..

The other thing I can say is, we will surf the net for few things that we need at the moment, and after 5 to 10 minutes you will find such advertisements recommending in sides of our surfing pages. Which are the excellent one to one marketing strategies followed and very efficient too.
