Question

When is it convenient to use semilogx,or semilogy, or loglog on matlab?

Question 14 Correct Mark 4 out of 4 P Flag question The following script generates a figure with four subplots: The transistor density (the number of transistors that fi t per square inch) on a semiconductor integrated circuit double s every two years. Transistor density was 2300 in the year 1971 year 1971:2:2011; density2300*2. ( (year-1971)/2); subplot (2,2,1); % plot plot (year,density); subplot (2,2,2); % semilogx semilogx (year,density); subplot (2, 2, 3) ; % semi logy semilogy (year,density); subplot (2,2,4); % loglog loglog (year,density) To display a linear graph, which is the best approach? Select one: cross out a. plot cross out semilogx C. semi logy d·loglog e, None of them would be linear cross out cross out cross out

Explanation / Answer

When is it convenient to use semilogx,or semilogy, or loglog on matlab?

Answer)
loglog in matlab plots the columns of the metric as y (loglog(y)) versus their index if y contains reals numbers. semilogx is the plot for logarithmic scales for x-axis and semilogy is the plot for logarithmic scales for y-axis in Matlab. As in the above question image, we see 3 types of plots as:
semilogx(year, density);
semilogy(year, density);
loglog(year, density);

In loglog(year, density); we plot all the density versus year pairs.
In semilogx(year, density); , we plot by using a base of 10 logarithmic scale for the x-axis and a linear for the y-axis.
In semilogy(year, density);, we plot the base 10 logarithmic scale for the y-axis versus linear scale for the x-axis.
