Morale is sinking over rumors that high-technology assets, systems, and procedures could displace some positions in the company. A couple of employees have been talking to other employees about trying to bring in a union to protect their jobs. Loyal employees are torn and distressed, and younger generation employees seem excited about it. Smith's very concerned because the company has managed to stay union-free since the company was started. A union takeover could really affect the company's future plans and throw it into chaos. Smith wants management to be prepared in case activity ultimately starts up.

Ethics is the guidelines which tell us that what is good or bad for our existence or in terms of conduct and action in the social setting. Organizations are the part of society so they should also utilizes ethical principles so as to establish sound policies at workplace, employee welfare, no conflicting interest with Union and employees etc.

The ethical value system has got many influences from external as well as internal forces of the organization. This can be understood as:

If, a company has vision to grow in the long run then it will set clear cut goals, values, and beliefs for its employees. It will develop a sound IR system. It will even promote the employees representation to the management of the organization. It will bring motivation, morale, innovation and high level of work commitment from the employees.

Even, company will reduce its expenditure on legal issues. The role of leadership and style of management also impact the ethical system of the organization. A better employee relation will have many associated benefits it must be understood by the key people of the organization.

2) Employee relation and External factors impacting it:

The prevailing political system frames the labor laws and other code of ethics for the industrial organizations which also influence the policy of an organization related with its IR system.The conditions of economy some time force employers to hard decisions like retrenchment or job cut and reducing the benefits provided to the employees.Whether, a company will motivate its employees to protect the environment. It will be also a part to consideration in terms of ethical perspectives of IR.

The social and cultural heritage of a country also influence the organization and hence the industrial relation with ethical implications.
