Lawyers, accountants, healthcare professionals and other disciplines have a Code of Ethics that govern their actions and behaviors in the workplace. Many job functions however do not. Is a corporate code of ethics satisfactory for all employees, even those who do have a discipline-based code? What should a manager who is facing an ethical dilemma and has no corporate or professional code of ethics guide do to assist in her/his decision making? Use your readings to support and defend your propositions.

A Corporate Code of Ethics is sufficient for all employees provided it takes into consideration all the discipline-based codes and codes for different functions in the organisations. A corporate code of ethics should preferably be detailed and in-depth and cover all the codes mentioned above. It should include ethical guidelines for all the disciplines and functions in the organisation such as finance, accounting, sales, marketing, intellectual property, business strategy, human resources and even information technology (IT).
If a manager is facing an ethical or a moral dilemma at workplace then there are a few steps that he/she must undertake in order to deal with the situation successfully.
