3. Also explain how, once the app is completed, it can then be loaded into the Apple and Android Play Stores. What is the process for this to happen? Look it up on the Internet.

Your boss has assigned you to create a cell phone app that will allow the user to view the dates and times of plays at the Fox Theater. Once the user has determined what play they would like, they can reserve a ticket(s) through the app. This first phase of the app will not require them to pay for the ticket. They can pick it up at Will Call at the Theater. It will however, keep track of the number of seats currently available and what is left after someone reserves a seat. HINT: Store data in?? The user can also return to the app and remove the ticket reservation if needed. Hint: How does the app know who the person is?

Hello!!

Am a freelance android app developer so I think I may have the neccesarry credentials to answer the question.

The problem asks for a document in which it describes basically the making of the app. This would be like the blueprint of our application and would not be much affected by the chpice of our language.

What we are making right now is called as the "Planning document" and is very generic, not depending much on the type of software used to make it

So lets begin

FOX THEATER(Mobile)

This document plans on how to create an android application for the Fox theater.

This app would at first validate the user by taking in its login credentials, or it may allow to let it go as a guest and browse. It then shows the number of plays,its title and its showtimes to the user. Once a play is selected, it shows the number of seats booked and empty on to show which seats are available. The app does not provide the mode of paying yet but it books the ticket and which can be paid at the Will Call at the theatrer.

The application would require 4 activities in its working(activities are to apps like webpages are to a website).The first activity would be the one, that shows up on opening the app. This would be the login page. The login would ask for the email id and the password. We are not adding the register page yet. Therefore to register on the app, you would have to go to the theater.

The list of users can be stores online on firebase database(by google). It stores the record perfectly, in key value pairs and can return data in json format which makes it easier to get only the information we want.

The next activity, once login is succesfull would show different types of plays and their showtimes on the screen. It would contain of thumbnail sized pictures along with their names and showtimes. These can be stored in another table in the firebas database (Database and tis uses in this app described at last).

Once clicking the show, can open a new page. This shows a layout of the theater, the number of seats filled and the number of seats that are empty. This too can be stored in firebase, explained at the end.

Now when the user clicks on a seat to confirm his/her booking, the data about that seat, date of show, the showtime and its title would be saved for that user.

There must be an option in a sidebar showing my bookings in the app. This shows the plays for which the user has booked the ticket. This would open a new activity which would aslo provide for a way cancel the ticket

Data management in this app

All the data needed in this app can easily be manaed with the help of firebase in google. Its a free online database management system which can be used to connect to any anrdroid app with a real time online databse.

Now the databse for this app will contain different tables.

The first of this would be the list of the users that have registered with the theater for the app. It contains the unique email address and the password. If both of these provided by the user is same and correct, then this references to another table for the same user. This table also stores the basic info about the users.

This table would store the number of bookings done by the user. Stores the basic info of the of the number of bookings and the data about the seats, etc.

Another table would show the list of movies. This table can store the title, movie unique id, and the number of seats booked. This can reference to another table which can store the layout of the booked seats in the theater for that show.

This is the basic design for the application. Following are the steps to put the app on the google play store.
