For this assignment you will download the NovaBench computer system benchmarking software, run it and explain some of the results. The software is available from https://novabench.com/download.php , it is free and available for Windows and Mac.

After downloading the program you should running the test suite. Based on these results and others that you find on the webpage, you should create a report to:

1. Is there a difference in CPU results for floating point and integer operations? If there is, what is the difference? Why do you think there is this difference or why they are the same?

2. Is there a difference in the results for RAM and Drive speed? If there is, what is the difference? In relation to the amount of each that your system has, the cost, and volatility, are these the results you would expect when comparing the two? Put your answer into context by explaining the role each storage has within a system.

3. Compare your results with the all time average values found at https://novabench.com/compare.php?d=a and explain what the reason is for the results of this comparison.

Solution :-

After running the novabench test suite on the computer AMD phenom II x6 the novabench benchmark is 1145. This result shows the different parameters of the computer hardware system. This test suite analyse the RAM, Hard drive, CPU and the graphics cards etc. Here we compare this result to other computer systems.

1) By comparing this result to other results on the website it can observe that there ia a difference in the integer and floating point operations test. The test suite analyse the performance of the processor by considering the operation per second. The AMD phenom II x6 has the 153968520 floating points operation per second and 532266378 integer operation per second. Other computer systems can have higher or lower rating comparing to this. This depends on the configuration of the computer hardware.

2) The result of test suite of the RAM and hard drive are quite different of the different configurations of the computer systems. The AMD phenom II x6 has the 3605 Mb/s for the RAM and 135Mb/s hard drive write speed. This result is different from other results on the webpage of the nova benchmark. Some systems has more RAM speed and hard drive write speed and some has lower. This is according to the configuration of the System memory.

3) By analyse the different computer systems by tye Nova benchmark suite the results may vary for the different computer systems. Some computer systems has higher benchmark score and some has lower. The benchmark scores are depends on the different configurations of the computer systems hardware and memory. Advanced configuration systems has higher benchmark score compared to other computer systems.
