Explanation / Answer

In step 1, A sends the RTS which is heard by it's neighbours B,E,F who defer their transmission until they also hear a CTS.
In step 3, B sends a CTS to A which is heard by the neighbours of B that is, E and C and they defer their transmission until data is also received. which is specified by step 4.
After receiving the CTS, A begins transmitting data in Step 5.
In step 6, The neighbour F who could not listen to B's CTS hears the data transmission and defers its transmission.
Till now C, E and F are waiting for the transmission of the data to be complete.
The transmission of data from A to B begins in Step 7.
Now observe carefully, only C E and F are on hold because they have heard CTS or DS. bUT THE REMAINING NODES, g AND d, ARE FREE TO TRANSMIT.

In step 8, nodes D and G iniate a RTS to nodes C nd G.
Now C has been waiting for data transmission to end however it does not receive any data segments since it is not a neighbour of A. That is why, it can listen but can't reply.
F is however the neighbour o A and can unfortunately overhear the data that is being transmitted and hence is completely blocked from transmitting.
