Below are my personal experience as a project manager
All the requirement and funtionalities of the project has been completed and there is nothing the develop and continue the project and this is the mostly occoured reason which leads to an project endings before getting into the close project phase.The client cannot afford to pay more money to the employess working under his project and also when the project is getting overbudget the client may consider and may leads to closing of the project phase that means project endings.The client thinks that their project can be done much better than the existing companies so client will decide to shift his project to some other higher companies then this reason will also leads to project endings before getting into the close project phase.
