1. Samsung battery recall: The biggest setback to Samsung happened where its phone Note 7 smartphones started exploding. Although Samsung had initiated the recall process of phones, but not before it harming consumers in many ways, leading to unnecessary lawsuits and brand devaluation. Samsung is unethical in an away in this situation because it released the phones in the market before proper testing. It would have extended the pre-testing period a bit more rather than releasing an unfinished product which hurts the brand credibility.
2.Well Fargo's fake accounts: Company chief executives tried to drive growth by putting excessive pressure on the brokers' employees to open new accounts, in which the employees responded in opening fraudulent accounts which made the company accountable to the government. The company proved unethical by pressurizing the customers. Rather it should have chosen the path of incentives for a better growth.
3.Facebook & Google criticized for tracking visitors: The two online tech companies were always in the news for good and bad things. The major criticism they face nowadays is the cookies, which they use to track the online activities of the individual. It is more unethical in a way, where it hinders the freedom of the visitors browsing online. Although consumers might have agreed to the privacy statements initially, they are highly unaware of the core in-depth content. So these companies should have opted in limiting the amount of tracking that it does on an individual by a periodic generation of updated policy statements to the users every now on them and let them choose what they can provide for tracking.
