Question
Sherman act is an antitrust act that was passed in 1890 under the President Benjamin Harrison. I feel this Act is important to regulate the markets under competition to ensure the consumers are not exploited due to the illegal activities of the Organizations which could in terms of artificially raising prices, nefarious dealings, etc. It hence aims at restricting the trade or supply practices in a way that it protects the consumers from getting abused. Moreover, apart from controlling the commercial activities, it also prohibits such cartels that in order to make the certain labor union activities illegal. Although many believe that it brings inefficiency in the business operations, I believe that it is somewhere even responsible to reinstate certain business ethics in place that makes a better place for the consumers to be regarded of, in the business.
