Explanation / Answer
a. In terms of simplifications, are there any rules that can be removed due to impossible situations? If not, indicate why not.
Rule 7 can be removed due to impossible situations because if Income is M, Credit Score whether it is >= or < = 750 the person can get Gold card. It is an impossible situation. But if the home owner is yes or no the person is eligible to get the card.
Comparing with Rule 5 and Rule 7, Rule 7 can be removed due to impossible situations.
According to Income Level, the decision rules can be applied to get the card.
b. In terms of simplifications, what rules can be combined? (indicate the rules you combine along with an explanation of why they can be combined)
Rule 12 can be combined with Rule 11 because if Income level is L, if credit score <= 750, whether the homeowner is Y or N, the person can’t get the card because of the credit score.
