Question
What we need to remember is the fact that no company is big when it's founded. All of them are born little and immature but with an excellent idea that can change the world. The same is the case with Microsoft. The deal made with IBM to sell the windows changed the image and brand value of the company forever. Every entrepreneur on this earth dreams of making it big like Microsoft and they get inspired by Bill Gates. No company should be characterized based on the size of the company and they should be valued based on the talent a company possesses.
Microsoft might be losing their image but they still have so many other businesses to keep generating money constantly for the next few decades. Microsoft is one company where there is constant innovation happening. So Microsoft should act as an inspiration for all the small companies heading in this direction for the fact that they never stopped innovating. They value their employees and give importance to every single employee and their opinions. So small companies should concentrate more on their product or service to have a competitive advantage over others and become a market leader in the years to come.
Explanation / Answer
Is it possible that some companies on the road to becoming a monopoly changed course to avoid being characterized as one? Do you think the Microsoft case served as a deterrence for other companies heading in this direction?
