Thiassignment deals with physical security planning. Your has been asked to assist in formulating a plan to assist in providing physical security to a downtown office building. (Discuss it. Design it. Document it)

Items to address:

1) Building is three stories in height, surrounded by three streets and an alley. Windows, all floors and building sides.

2) There are two entrances, main in the front of the building and employee in the back via the alley, close to company parking garage.

3) Computer room is on the second floor.

4) There is a basement with flooding issues, that contains both networking and phone equipment. Air conditioning units on the roof. Roof is flat.

5) There is a Helpdesk on the second floor, but IT Services are outsourced.

6) Business Function: Internet Service Provider

Explanation / Answer

Physical Security Means Physical protection of the building or any business place which is vital part of the protection of people and valuable goods at that place.When we thinking about physical security we directly concern with unauthorized entry,terrorist attack and any other criminal activity.

As far as the given problem is concern, this is a three story building with two entry gates,

A.first we discuss the protection of the building and people from unauthrized access(Criminl,terrorist attack etc)

1.We need to installed hd cameras to all the entry gates with audio recording,we can also use face recognision system and connected to local police criminal database so that on the behalf of this we recognize the criminal to

entry in building.

2.We can also introduce x-ray machine at entry to prevent unauthorized access.

3.Wireless phones system for guards communication.

B.Natural Disaster:

We should also ready for natural disaster like flood ,fire etc

we should also do proper arrangement to handle natural disaster in building for fire,there should be [proper arrangement of fire extinguisher.

C.On the back gate we should also do arranagement of security as we do in front gate.

D. internal main gate should also protected through security system and the gate should open through proper scanning of thumb or i card swipe.

E. We can also introduce security alarm system that will be connected to the local police station.
