Question
When I faced a problem, I try to follow the following steps to find out the solution for it. The steps are as follows:
In order to solve the problem, we have to follow the following steps:
The problem is that I have a major test which covers all the portion of first- half of the term which is due Sunday night at 11:59pm. Due to the busiest time of the year I have to work for the 55 hours that week and I can’t leave without doctor’s excuse. If you have done then the penalty would be two weeks suspension without pay. And if you fail in the test then I would be fired from the school. In addition to this, my friend kept a monster party on Saturday night for that I was waiting from so long.
The problem is that how to manage the whole process in the given week. Actually, there is no problem in this case only the proper management is required to work on it.
The options for solving the problems are as follows:
The options for evaluation is done on the basis of the options we have identified in the previous step.
It changes based on the person to person opinion. I would choose to go with the option one. The analysis of the option one is as follows:
The week starts from Sunday so whole day (As much as possible) I would read for the major term test. Then very next day I would go for the work and work for at least 10 to 12 hours. Every day I would try to finish the maximum the work. After coming from the work, I would read the portion of the term examination which is remaining and then Saturday I would go to the party.
Second option is that first read the entire portion of the work and then work for 55 hours and then go for the party. But the problem here is you may not get the leave with the employer without the doctor’s prescription.
The best option is the first option as if I would be regular to study and work I won’t feel burden to manage the situation.
The decision taken is the most effective one because the management of the work and the reading ratio is perfect. Because of this I won’t get tired from work and bored of reading also. So, it would release a kind of pressure from my mind and I may enjoy the party at Saturday night with full excitement.
Explanation / Answer
When faced with a problem, what do you do to solve it? This assignment asks you to apply a six-step to problem solving process to a specific problem scenario. You will write a paper that presents a synthesis of your ideas about solving the problem using this systematic approach. As Voltaire said, "No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking. You have a major test that is due by Sunday night at 11:59pm and it covers the entire first-half of the term. You are scheduled for 55 hours that week at work and, because it’s a busy time of the year, your employer has insisted no one was allowed to call-in without a doctor’s excuse. Penalty for this would be a 2-week suspension without pay. Your grades have been poor all term long and if you fail this test, you will fail out of the school. To add to your week, your best friend is having a monster party on Saturday night that you’ve been dying to go to for months. Review the six-step problem solving process outlined in the webtext, based on the article “The Problem Solving Process” located at http://www.gdrc.org/decision/problem-solve.html: Step One: Define the problem Step Two: Analyze the problem Step Three: Generate options Step Four: Evaluate options Step Five: Make your decision Step Six: Implement and reflect Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you: Define the problem in the scenario that you have chosen. Analyze the problem in the scenario. Generate options for solving the problem in the scenario. Evaluate the options for solving the problem. Decide on the best option for solving the problem. Explain how you will implement the decision made and reflect on whether this option was the most effective.
