Its’ uniqueness is the ambience that it creates and eventually cunningly inflates the customer’s shopping basket size given that it is a furniture business which typically has high cost and long durability items thus the same customer will definitely not visit at least for 2-3 months. Hence they need to sell as much as possible in the current visit itself.
I personally like this approach as it is a great marketing and selling technique (however shrewd it may sound). Almost every business does some kind of selling, enticing tricks just that some business are so huge that their tricks are more evident so I don’t see any wrong in it. Even more surprising part is even if all firms know these trick, it is the execution and the end results which are important (as they finally determine the numbers by which any business is measured), so the laurels and rewards need to go to the firm which executes it meticulously.
