- Position based focus on win in the negotiation,they have either win or loose outcome. e.g. if trade union is making any claim before the organization they will think they have won if all of their demand will be met other wise loose. Interest based focus on win-win tendency. For them let the dispute be grown because division of outcome is not clear.In the given example employer have this tendency in negotiation.

-In position based assume that dispute cannot be grown and it is fixed where it was.In the trade union example it will be assume that the concern of the trade union remain fixed and cannot be aggrave at that point of time.In interest based it is assume that dispute can be grown. In this case the management will think that if the problem will not be solved at that time then problem may aggravate.

-In position based surround around the problem and do not want further investigation of the issues whileinterest based approach, requires each side to interrogate its real interests, not its historical demands or fixed positions.

- Position based is a traditional narrow based labor relations where all possibilities are neglected whwre as Interest based deal can be created out of all the possibilities for resolving the dispute and checking them against the interests uncovered
