There are lots of data. Converting this data to an "Information" to a "Knowledge" drives today's business. Visualizing and understanding the data is much important for business decision making. Therefore, data visualization has become an integral part of the current market scenario. There are many data visualization tools available in the market. I am going to discuss "Tableau" which is one of the top 10 data visualization tool available in the market.
Tableau is a business intelligence software which converts data into knowledge into beautiful visualization which can be easily understood even by a layman. The different functions of Tableau are given below:
1. Data: Tableau lets you import data from different environments. If you are a running a business entity and wants to import your database data which is in Oracle, you don't need to worry. Tableau provides you an ability to upload a wide variety of data which can be Oracle, MySQL, MS-Access, Excel, XML, CSV etc.
2. Easy to use: It is a drag and drop based tool, wherein you can just choose the dimensions based on a type of data you are selecting to. You don't require any programming or technical knowledge to use it.
3. Analytics: If you are a programmer and want to customize the visualization and also want to apply some analytics on it, you can perform analytics using R or MATLAB. Tableau supports external data analytics coding platforms embedded within it.

Tableau supports Bar Chart, Pie Chart, Line Chart, Map, Scatter Plots, Gantt Chart, Histogram, TreeMap and much more! Different kinds of data can be visualized in different ways. It would be really helpful to the business environment. To give an example, you can visualize the number of customers available in each region with a number of pre-existing customers and can decide where to set up the new branch. Using Region Maps, it would help us to analyze things better.
