First of all Southwest Airlines should issue a public apology to the woman for ill treating her. Secondly the airline should reimburse the woman passenger for the cost of her flight as well as any other incidental expenses. Both these measures will act as a damage control measure and will send out the message that for the airlines its customers are important.

Thirdly the airline should put in place a strict policy to separate animals from flyers who have an allergy. Lastly the airline should notify in advance all the passengers about any animals that will be on board.
