Deming, was an American citizen, who introduced the concept of quality among his Japanese friends and colleagues. When Japan was in an economic crisis, Deming’s methods helped them to manage productivity. Deming’s seventh point on institute leadership finds resonance with lot of his other points or concepts. In his seventh point, he states that leadership has the tough job of making man and machine do a good job together. A leader has to transform his organization. Deming’s first point on creating consistency of purpose, towards improvement of services and products, and his fifth point on improving the system constantly, to improve quality, have a strong interrelationship with his seventh point. Infact, his second, eigth, ninth,tenth and thirteenth point, all have strong interrelationships with point seventh. All of them must be viewed as whole, as they talk about leadership in all aspects. The relationship dynamics among all of these points, is quite deep and this is the reason they should be viewed as whole.
