Answer is as follows :
WE know that swith DOWN is 0 and UP is 1.
So
a) We convert given string to following set of bytes :
1 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 0
where leftmost bit 1 represent the number is -ve.
So we know that except leftmost bits others are 001010100 is equal to 84 in decimal.
So if we include 1 in this, the no get's -84.
b)
The converted string is 1 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 0
i.e. equal to numeric value or decimal value 554
