Question

The TIA/EIA 568B standard defines the arrangement of 4 pair UTP cabling into RJ 45 connector. In purchasing commercial premade cables the emerging standard is 568B. Task 1: Using the Internet conduct a search for the TIA/EIA 568B standard wiring diagram. There are many sites that offer color coded diagrams for wiring straight through patch cables. Using your color coded diagram record the proper color wire for each of the pins of the RJ 45 modular connector when assembled using the TIA/EIA 568B standard. Pin 2: Pin 1: Pin 3: Pin 5: Pin 7: Pin 4: Pin 6: Pin 8:

Explanation / Answer

TIA/EIA-568 is basically set of telecommunication standard for cabling in commertial buildings.

Part 1 : The color coding for each pin of RJ45 in TIA/EIA-568B standard is as follows :

part 2 :

This  part of the problem is looking at all the possible solution/options for the network setup for the commertial building.

task 1:

1000BASE-T is a Gigabit Ethernet using a copper wiring. The required details of this wiring are :

Task 2: 1000BASE-TX (TIA/EIA-854) was simpler Design implementation of 1000BASE-T by making use of two unidirectional twisted cables instead of 4 bidirectional cable settings in 1000BASE-T. However, It was a failure in the communication setup as it required a category 6 cable and commertial setup using 1000BASE-T was much cheaper .

task 3:  1000BASE-SX standard use near infrared (NIR) light wavelength for the communication( around 800 nm ).

task 4: 1000BASE-X is defined under IEEE 802.3.z standard. It is basically a goup of standards(1000BASE-SX/CX/LX/EX).

task 5:  1000BASE-ZX is a gigabit standard is compliant to IEEE 802.3z.
