Explanation / Answer
ACL stands for Access control list which controls access to and denial of services. They act as filters for network traffic, packet storms, services and host access on network devices such as Routers and firewalls. Standard ACL allows to prioritize traffic based on the Source IP address. Extended ACL provides greater control over the prioritized traffic. Most of the devices like router come with standard ACL as default and allow the option for extended ACL's.
