Can any one tell me why I can’t create a new database useing this commend. I also try create user user login identify by “Password”; Grant Dan to userlogin; PEX Copyright (c) 1982, 2016, Oracle. All rights reserved. Enter user-name: emon Enter password: Last Successful login time: Sat Sep 22 2018 12:37:09 -04:00 loud Connected to: Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.2.0.1.0 64bit Production SQL> create database userlogin; create database userlogin ERROR at line 1: ORA-01501: CREATE DATABASE failed TA ORA-01100: database already mounted SQL>

Explanation / Answer

First run this command to check if your database is already mounted or not

select open_mode from v$database;

If the output comes as MOUNTED

then execute this command

alter database dismount;

Now try to create your database it will work
