Java in today's world is one most widely used language according to the study by Tiobe Index as it is comparetively easier to code compared to C, C++ and older programing language and also allowing more control of the internal working compared to Python, Ruby it is ideal for building complex applications faster compared to C/C++ and also allowing you with more hold on the architecture and internal working of the code compared to Python, Ruby etc these scripting languages have more abstraction layer compared to Java.

Java will be go to language for building most of the applications, as most of the widely used frameworks are either written in Java or has wide support for it. For example, widely used testing framework Selenium is written in Java and has wide support for it, Javascript widely used language for webdevelopment is written on top of Java, scripting languages like groovy is also written on top of Java, most widely used mobile OS Android OS in written on Java, Java as a Programming language has added advantage of wide online community, support and documentation available, libraries for complex functionalities are also available quite easily in Java, We know Python these days is growing very fast but Java being around for long time and with huge online community is still be the best programming language.
