Do you agree or disagree. Please respond in a few sentences as to why.

I believe that shell programming is a good way to take a tedious multiple step manual process and automate it. Shell programming allows us to program commands into a batch and call them as scripted events. Shell programming allows us to take known commands of many different languages and call them into a script, thus performing as a glue language to other languages and programs. As described earlier I would develop a shell program to drive efficiency in a defined process. I may develop a shell program to allow disparate programs or languages to participate in the completion of a defined task. I may develop a shell program to generate information from a input (customer, database, program) to complete a defined task, maybe generate a report or next step operation.

I agree with all the given statements except for:

Do not agree on this "Shell programming allows us to take known commands of many different languages and call them into a script, thus performing as a glue language to other languages and programs." because shell programming does not take commands from other languages but only open those programings by passing parameters and consume the result value if any - but cannot use/borrow commands.
