Question
Hello Instructor,
Assume your customer is concerned about WAN link being saturated with domain traffic and wants it to be minimized; why would you, or not, recommend a multitmaster solution? I would recommend a multitmaster solution because Multi-master replication can also be contrasted with failover clustering where passive slave servers are replicating the master data in order to prepare for takeover in the event that the master stops functioning. The master is the only server active for client interaction.
The primary purposes of multi-master replication are increased availability and faster server response time.

Explanation / Answer
If a WAN link is being saturated with domain traffic and wants it to be minimized;
I would not reommend a multi master replication because it only help in disastor recovery management and also helps in handling the client requests when the WAN link becomes slow due domian traffic.
But to minimize the domain traffic: Set up a forward lookup zone with a WINS lookup register, and reduce the cache time-out value. It make the server a caching-only server, which will remove zone transfer network traffic.
Another way of reducing the traffic is by using offlaoding and cache devices.
