Explanation / Answer

Answer

Performance Appraisal – Performance appraisal process is to review the performance of the employee based on his contribution in the organization against his work plan objective and assign the rating to the employee. This process helps the employee to review his performance for the given time period and helps him to explain his achievements and areas of improvement, so that he can improve his performance for the next working period.

Yes, Figure is an effective scale for appraising instruction. Because this scale helps to provide the numeric ratings against the each objective of the employees. The rating scale is divided into three category like excellent rating (7), average rating (4) and lowest rating (1). So this three rating can be used by the manager to rate the employees to judge his performance against the objectives. Based on achieved performance rating, the employee can develop his improvement plan upon receiving lower rating in any of the objectives. This is better way of measurement to the employee for his performance against the objectives.

So the ratings are provided for each of the survey questions. In these ratings, 7 being the excellent rating, 4 being the average rating and 1 being the least rating.

This clearly explain the teacher that what are the objectives where his performance his excellent.

As per rating,

·        Performance objective 1 and 3 are in excellent rating category.

·        Performance objective 2, 4, 5 and 8 are in average rating category.

·        Performance objective 6 and 7 are in least rating category.

So based on these performance ratings, the teacher can understand his performance for the entire period and from now onwards, the teacher can plan the improvement action for these lower rating objectives.
