1. RFID stands for "radio frequency identification". It is a technology where digital data is encoded in RFID tags through radio waves. It is similar to barcoding where the data from a tag is captured and stored in a database.
RFID uses radio waves. It consists of three components like RFID tag, RFID reader, Antenna.
RFID tags contain an integrated circuit and antenna which are used to transmit data to RFID reader, then reader converts radio waves into a usable form of data. Information collected from the tags are then transferred through a communications interface host computer system, where the data can be stored and analyzed at a later time.
Examples are : ID badging (Employment), in Wal-Marts, etc.
2. NAS is generally referred to as Network Attached Storage which is a storage that is directly connected to a computer network (LAN) through network file system protocols such as NFS and CIFS.
It is useful as a backup and storage system that is used within organisations that have a large number of departments that require storage of large amounts of data on a central server. With NAS the data storage is configured with its own network address instead of being associated with the department server and the department computer.
4. CIO stands for Chief Information Officer. CIO is an executive job title given to the person at an Enterprise in charge of information technology strategy and the computer systems required to support the organizations unique objectives and goals.
