the argument of candidates more focused on the states which have strong influence and neglect other sates is true, is true and considerable. it is common for all, people give first priority to those areas or issues which give them more benefit than small benefit. it is the same case with focusing on more influencing areas, but we can not pressume that the other regions and states were neglected. the common phenomina in democracy is, governments will be established based on the support of majority votes, they wont considered minority votes.
US is one of the oldest democratic nation, which have more fair practices in election process. of course there are few limitations, the people who oppose the sytem may raise their voice against these limitations. but it does not mean that the total system is fail and unfair. the weightage of electoral votes given based on the volume of population living in the state or place. it is considering the perception of major population. at the same time, there must be some alternatives for considering the perception of other states and people. otherwise, always the large popular states decides the fate of small states. it may not be right process.
but still US is following electoral voitng system, which have some advantages and some dis advantages. every coin has both sides, similarly, voting system and election system in US too. one of the major limitation in Electoral voting system is
1. the weightage of electoral votes is not equal, some of the votes carries high weightage where other votes carries less weightage.
2. the other draw back is, individual voter perception and individual votes does not matter or does not considered. and
3. the other limitation is the candidate with the most votes doesn’t always win.
