Index always gives the intersection field value of the given row and column.For example you want to return intersection of 2nd row 3rd column value you need to write =index(A5:E18,2,3).

8. The C25 cell will display the value 16 as result. The match function searches for the specified item in the range of given values. here we are item book from the range of B5-B18 and the item is in 16 cell. so it displays that cell number.

9.It displays #N/A as the result because it is invalid we have to give the range about the single column or single row.

10.It displays error only as the index function is not as per the syntax.
