An integrated information system integrates and co-ordinates all the components i.e hardware, software, database, network and people and convert the data into information by combining all together.
integrated information system has five components hardware, software, database, network and people,they perform input, process, output, feedback and control once get integrated together.
Hardware functions are giving input/output decision , processing, operating function and media devices function. Software function consists of various programs and procedures running in computer, Database function consists of data organized in the required structure for future reference, Network function consists of hubs, communication media and network devices. People consist of device operators, network administrators and system specialist etc.
The benefit each provides to an organization are it acts as a operations support system,transaction processing System (TPS),process Control System,enterprise collaboration system and management support system.
The overarching benefit of an EIS to an organization is that executive information system facilitates and give support to the senior executives information and helps them in decision making and offer specialised support .it helps top level executives in comparing, analysing ,monitoring performance and identifying the opportunities and problems.
The most important component of an EIS is Software because it is a vital component as it integrates all data in one system that is why organisation must choose an appropriate software.it acts as model base, database,graphic base and as text handling software which is important for overall functioning of EIS.
