Biscast Cooperation produces edible products. The company employs 50 people and has offices on two floors in a downtown building. Each employee uses Windows XP operating system on a desktop or laptop computer. Biscat Cooperation has two servers running Windows Server 2003, plus a Linux Web Server. Currently, each floor in their building is wired using Category 5e UTP cable. Their communications devices are half-duplex hubs and switches employing 10Base T connections cables throughout the building… on each floor and between floors. The building is scheduled for renovations and Biscat Cooperation hires you through Network Design Consultants to assist in a new network design for a cabled network.

What cabling do you recommend for linking the network on each floor of the building? Why? What are the advantages of the cabling that you recommend?

I recommend the fibre optic cable to link the floors from the ISP. Beacuse in fibre optic cable transmission is done very fast and no loss of transmission.

But this is costlier than the UTP cable. So to reduce the costs I will recommend that from ISP to main switch fibre optic cable and then UTP cable from switch to computers or laptops is good.

Otherwise if it is not the matter of money then i will recommend the fibre optic cable to the whole connections other the earlier method which recommended above is good
