Question
I was wondering if someone could help me resolve the current issue I'm having with an assignment. The SEEDUbuntu virtual disk images are in a zip file from this website: http://www.cis.syr.edu/~wedu/seed/lab_env.html (Be warned, it's over 2GB of vdmk files.)
It's supposed to be the (New) SEEDUbuntu12.04.zip with the MDS checksum 6ec9c429a2f4a9163530ada20f0621dc
The first step in the assignment was to install the virtual disk image (vdmk file) from the site as instructed, but it keeps giving me a "VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED" error. I'm not sure as to why it's doing this, but it would be impossible to resume the assignment without completing this. Is there anything I can do to fix this? If so, what should I do?
Explanation / Answer
Dear Student,
Every thing is instructed in the website. I have explored the site and found the solution. The error is due to dublicate UUID. below is the full description of the error.
Reason: This error is because you copied the VM files from another VM, which is already loaded into VirtualBox. These two VMs have the same UUID, which is not allowed by Virtualbox We recommend that you use the clone mechanism to create the second VM, instead of copying the files.
solution is in the below document. here i have attached the link of the document. Read the complete document and you may be in the position to resolve the error.
Note: Solution is in page number 6 and 7 in the document.
here is the link.....
