Explanation / Answer
1. Data warehouse is the system which stores the organisation data i.e. current and historical data. It will be most helpful in getting reports and to access information about old data. It is mainly used For data analysis and to take reports.
It is the central system which collectsor stores information from the multiple sources.
Anheuser-Busch usesd datawarehousing to store the information about the traders, complete information about customers i.e. name, gender, what they bought, how much they paid etc like this and also they are storing their stock information etc .. They are using the system over all of their stores to enter the information and the all the systems in stores spanned across multiple places will connected to the same database that is nothing but data warehouse which gets their reports about the past transactions.
2. Data mining is mainly used to analyse and retrieve the data accordingly to our requirement. Data mining is just the process of retrieving the data from the warehouse.
In retrieving this data one can retrieve in many dimensions and angles. This is the main purpose of data mining. It will allow us to retrieve the data among many dimensions and angles to identify the relationships
Anheuser-Busch uses data mining to retrieve the data about the past transactions of the customer to identify them by retrieving information about last time what they bought and how much they paid and also in a way that keep tracking of the self space for the different brands etc like this. All this reports or information what they getting is nothing but data mining.
3. In Mamas pizzeria we will all the information about the transactions happened and the customer information and the orders information etc. Storing all this information is nothing but data warehousing. Now this might have many branches and the many branches may get many orders and can enter customer information all this are stored in the data warehouse.
And every day the CEO want to know the business status that day and he may want to compare the status with multiple days statuses. Or he want to see how many online order are getting booked every day and how much money they are getting everyday. To show all this information individually in a clear manner data mining is very much helpful it will give the reports according to your requirements on multiple dimensions and angles.
4. By upgrading to erp system all the different departments information will be centrally stored in one database only. And for every department there will be separate application options accordingly. It is very secure. Even it might have different branches on multiple places all this branches can be connected to single database.
And also reporting and data analysis all these are very easy and efficient.
