1) There is definitely a reason to be worried for Honda. Honda, being a big brand in global market, has a good reputation and customers have good perceptions on this brand. People mostly buy Honda Cars in the name of good will & brand image. Hence, such quality difference is not expected.

An other important aspect is, Honda is an active player in the global automobile market, which is very competitive. In such strong competition if Honda is supplies its product in an inferior quality, then customer will not accept the product and they will definitely shift to another brand.

Lastly, cost plays a major role. Automobiles paints are very costlier. These are not normal paints. So, for a highly priced cars, they can have a need to put few more coats. But for a low priced and budget cars, they normally dont give more number of coats. This will result in paint pigment disposition and paint will slowly fade off. But for a highly priced cars, customers look at durability. And such paint fading will not be acceptable. Therefore Honda is in a fix and worried on all the above points.

2) Customer has a need to be worried. When there is more paint on body, and when it is automatically exposed to heavy sun, the temperature of the paint will increase, and heat radiation will automatically increase. This will result in increased temperature inside the car, which is definitely a trouble to customer. Few reasons why it will not be acceptable to the customer are -
