Data Replication is defined as the Copying of data present in one location's computer/server to the other location's computer/server electronically.

The resultant of which is the most usefull distributed database from which the users can access the data without disturbing the other users who use the primarily located server data.

IBM provides InfoSphere Data Replication platform, which has a very low latency making the replication more ideal. and alos with continous availability of the data, As every one know about the IBM we can expect the after implementation support also from the base company if required once the replication has been successfully completed.

Oracle provides it's GoldenGate as a replication product, compared with all the other's it also provides very high data transfer rates but with an average cost. Hence the cost of the setting up of the location is also important we should decide it based upon the company's budget and also feasable solutions depending upon that.

SharePlex is one more DataBase replciation platform which is suitable for low budget institutions/ company's who also provides the high data rate transmission compared to the top platfroms.

Symmetric DS is also one of the best Database replication product. Unlike the other's it is an opensource platfrom and can be used by any body which will incur less cost. One can use the trail version of this for free and enable whether will be suitable for theri requirements and if so can go for the licensed version.
