Question
Provide Use Case Scenarios for TWO System Requirements Based on the Narrative:
Rent-Me Video Store is a small video rental shop, catering mainly to a student population. When a new customer wants to rent a video, he/she is asked to fill a new member form. The form asks for details of driver’s license, credit card, proof of residence and one other form of identification. A credit check is run against the credit card to verify applicant identity. Upon satisfactory verification of credit card details, a borrowing card is issued to the applicant. The member is now able to borrow tapes against his/her member card.
When a member borrows a tape, the check out clerk records the item against the member’s record. When an item is returned, the record is updated accordingly. Payment is collected from the borrower at the time an item is borrowed. Sometimes members do not return items in time and overdue charges need to be collected. These too are collected at the time of check out. In case a member has an outstanding amount, she/he is not allowed to borrow additional items.
When an item has been checked out, it is not available for borrowing in the catalog. When an item is returned, it is shown in the catalog as being available for borrowing. Rent-me also rents VCRs for borrowing. The process for renting out VCRs is identical to that for renting videos.
If a member is delinquent in payment, a delinquent letter is sent to the member. If the account is not settled within six weeks, it is sent to a collection agency. Accounts referred to a collection agency are also reported to a Credit Bureau.
