2. Bench marking is the process of measuring the quality of an organization's products,policies,procedures with comparing to the standard measurements or with comaparing to the other companies in the market.
this is very useful to understand the drawbacks of an organization and also useful to analyze development techniques of other organizations,useful to improve the performance of an organization.
through this bench marking, one company can find out the way to understand level of performance which comapany should develop by observe another company or competitor or one industry,it can be possible by comparision.
it consist a process,that is
1. Understand about organization's present performance level and where the real problem is,based on this company can understand,is company required bench marking or not.
2.Getting the support from executive leadership so that comapny can get the reqired resources and it can useful to eliminate the problems in the process
3.Company should document the objectives and scope of benchmarking.
4. Document the current process with full information.
5. Planning for the bench marking process, what should be benchmarking,what is the process to be followed.
6. Collect the related information, the information may be belongs to our company performance in one area and competitor performance in same area

Internal means comparision of business activity to similar activity within the organization.
Competitive means comparision with competitor's product or services
Functional means comparision to same type of practices within the same Industry or other Industry
Generic means Comparision with Leader company in the market
