You work for a local state government agency. A recent audit has revealed your agency does not have an adequate backup plan. Before any disaster recovery plan can be crafted, you have been tasked to provide the following information: Explain the objectives of a backup and recovery strategy for databases. Explain the types of backup plans and how they can be used to meet different recovery objectives. The main abjective of backup and recovery strategy of any transaction processing system is that
maintaining integrity of data.That means there should be no loss of data if any disaster has been happened. And also minimizing the effects of errors.Another thing is that restoring services as quickly as possible if any disaster has been happened.

Types of backup: There are mainly three types of backups:

Full backups
A full backup is nothing but full copy of entire data of database. This is the more secure and basic type of database. Even full backups are more protective backups ,many organizations use rarely because full backups takes long time, and requires more resources like tapes and disks.

Incremental backup
Incremental backups are introduces to decreas the amount of time takes to do.This backup only takes the data that has changed since the previous backup.Suppose we have done with full backup on Monday, and for the rest of the week better to use incremental backups,that means Tuesday's backup contains the data changed since Monday.

Differential backups
It is also like an incremental backup but the difference is that it contains all of the data that has changed since the last full backup. While incremental backup contains all of the data that has changed since the last any type of backup.
