We all know that databases supply the fuel for the productivity engine in the information age, but at what cost - i.e. what effort is required to initially build (design, implement, and populate with data) in a database in your corporate (where you work now or have worked in the past) and personal databases (resources – dollars or people hours and the DBMS software; (I am not concerned in this unit with maintaining the data by DBA(s) or functions performed by DBA(s) or efforts to input data on an ongoing basis by users – only the initial database build effort)? Getting this quantitative information may be difficult, but I want you to provide at least an estimate if historical records are not available)? Provide this information for either one example of a personal database, or one example of a corporate database that you are familiar with. Even if you are not experienced with databases yourself, the idea is to go find out about the resources/effort needed to initially design and build a database. In this present situation maintain record on the file is way behind.DBMS have replaced the file system.Seeing and using the database easy but where as to maintain rather build the database is one of the diffcult task present.Here while building the database the different coloumns name,size,default value(id needed),constraints need to be declared carefully.Because any miscalculation will lead to the error hole in the database.For example suppose the address stored coloumn for an employee table size is only 30 but some addresses are more than that so in that case there will be space size error.So defining the database is one of the most importat thing.

Lets take example

One database for the personal use.
In this type of databse there will only be coloums for each table and there will be minimum number of tables.So designing this also needs effort but to find out an error this one will be easier.

Databse for Corporate.
In this type of database designing its need some serious skills.Because unlike others there will be thousdand of data for each table and there will hundred of table.So its quite natural the table will be interlinked.Mainting the database needs skill,patience and in depth knowledge.Any error in the field will affect the consequent datas in other tables and son on.
