Before i tell you the factors of game mechanics and some of the points that makes the good gameplay, let me tell you what gameplay is:

Gameplay is a term used to define the way players interact with a certain video or computer game. It is further characterized as the way the game is played, including the rules, the plot, the objectives and how to conquer them, as well as a player's overall experience.

Playability is a set of factors that measure the ease or comfort and fun in playing a specific game. Players experience is one of the most important factors, and these points contribute to it.

Learning: Making sure the user is trained well advanced before the game so he can use all the features from the start.
Immersion: The capacity of the user to believe in the game. The proportion between the obstrucles and the abilities of the game.
Emotion: The challenges, story, aesthetic, music. They all contribute to the emotion of the user while playing a game.
Satisfaction: The overall satisfactionn the user after completing the game. This includes every factor that the game has been made with.
Efficiency: The necessary time and resources needed by the user to play the game.
Socialization: The extent to which the game can respond the social factor to have an experience in groups.

When you ask me which type of games I would like to create, it depends on numerous factors. There are many genre like first person shooters, platformers,role-playing games etc, the list is endless. Every genre has its specific admirers and when a game is designed well with the right mechanics there is no doubt that it will be admired.

Let me mention some points of user view validation of a game:

1. Challenge: How much you enjoy tackling what you’re being asked to do. It is about what a game asks your brain or fingers to do, and whether it’s something you enjoy struggling with. It should be on a moderate level so that the player does not get irritated or frustrated by it.

2. Feel: Making individual interactions convincing and pleasurable. Defining it typically, its the physics of the game.
When you fire a bullet, the recoil of the gun, the fire, the sound, where it has been hit, what was the effect of it.

3. Freedom: The extent to which a game reacts to your choices with interesting results. A game that put you in an infinite empty field would have a lot of freedom in the ordinary sense of the word, but it’s not just about maximising options. Freedom is about how many different options the game has an interesting response to.

4. Place: A world you want to be in. Some players love free road racing, some love track racing, some love off road racing. It is all about the wide range of audience your game attracts gives you the final result.

5. Fantasy: The appeal of playing this role. There are a lot of game with bad story line but still do good because the of the love they have for the character they are in. Visualizing themselves in a character they always dreamed of makes them play.

All these factors contribute to the success of a game.
