Question

Thinking about Bioethics

We live in a world in which technology increasingly allows for us to manipulate biology. How should we think about that fact? How should we consider the intersection of law, morality, medicine and biology - both as it relates to abortion, and as it relates to other issues? Are all lives equally valid? If so, why? And if not - how would we know? And what would we owe to different human beings? If we can transform ourselves through technology, ought we to do so? Why or why not?

Explanation / Answer

There is immense diversity and rapid evolution of technologies with relevance to (or impact on) the life sciences enterprise. Their impacts may be beneficial or detrimental depending on how these tools and technologies are applied. Many scientists are believeing that genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics as the three overlapping revolutions which will define our lives in the decades to come.

Intersection of law, morality, medicine and biology has large scope to discuss in bioethics. Biotech innovations may eventually involve germ-line manipulation, the actions we take today may affect every future generation of human beings, making the coming generations stakeholders in our ethical analysis. All lives are equally valid if it may be a cloned one when the produced one is a normal specie from the parent. If we are producing cloned robots from human beings based on the tests and for security purposes we can abort the ongoing development at the very early stage.

Though we continue to improve at manipulating matter on nanoscales, we’re still far from nanobots or nanoassemblers that would build and repair atom by atom. Apart from this coloning human and robot species is also at initial stage. transforming through technology leads us to sustainable growth but when it threatnes bio-diversity we have better to get rid off the transforming technology.
